How you can make a difference

The Little Star Fund is a campaign to raise funds for four of Ireland's leading children's charities working with sick children. Between us we support over 250,000 sick children and their families from all over Ireland every year.

Your donation will be divided equally between the four charities involved who will use the funds raised to pay for vitally needed medical equipment, medical research into childhood illness, and family support programmes.

The charities involved in the Little Star Fund are:

What will the money raised be spent on?
We are aiming to raise over €1 million for sick children all around Ireland. No gift is too small and we are asking you to consider donating just a very small percentage of your SSIA windfall.

Here are some examples of how you will be helping with your donation*:

  • €100 could fund Christmas, Easter or Halloween for the children's wards
  • €350 could fund a day's programme of therapeutic recreation at Barretstown for a seriously ill child
  • €500 could funds clay, paint and arts and crafts materials for an entire year for one of our programmes
  • €1000 could fund an artist to paint colourful murals on the walls of the children's wards to brighten them and make them child friendly
  • €10,000 could fund micro surgery equipment for our surgical team making procedures less invasive and traumatic for children
  • €100,000 could fund an Ultra-Sound X-Ray Machine

*Please note that unfortunately we are not able to accept donations directed at only one of the four member charities. All donations will be split equally between the four organisations.
