Who are we?
The Little Star Fund is a campaign formed
to aid four of Ireland’s largest children’s
charities; Temple Street Children’s Hospital,
The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght,
Our Lady’s Hospital for Children Crumlin
and Barretstown.
Why we got together.
These Charities have come together
to offer the people of Ireland the unique
opportunity to donate a small part of their
SSIA windfall. These funds will provide
equipment, research and family support to
the 250,000 sick children that turn
to them every year.
How to support.
The money raised by the Little Star Fund will provide vital equipment, research and
family support. €50 could go towards much needed paediatric medical equipment,
€100 could fund research into serious childhood illnesses.
Whatever you can afford to give could provide hands on support for seriously ill children and
their families. Your donation no matter how big or small will make a difference to our work.
Martin King - In The Picture
After three years and thousands of pictures, TV3' s Martin King launched MARTIN KING - IN THE PICTURE, a spectacular and unique collection of viewers' photos that he has received on a daily basis for the weather forecast.
The book, published by Mentor Publications, includes photos that are displayed during the weather forecast and hold a very special significance for Martin. He wanted to share these images with the public while at the same time supporting a very worthy charity, the Little Star Fund.
The book retails at €25 and will be available in bookshops all over Ireland from 26th November 2007. All profits from the book will go to the Little Star Fund and will be administered by Mentor Publications.
If you get an SSIA windfall of €20,000
and are able to donate just 1% of this,
or €200, this will go towards sending a
child to camp for a day.
If you get an SSIA windfall of €15,000 and
are able to donate just 1% of this, or €150,
it will go towards funding vitally needed
cardiac equipment.
If you get an SSIA windfall of €12,000 and are
able to donate just 1% of this, or €120, we
will be able to a buy a camp bed for a childs
room so a parent can stay over for the night.
If you get an SSIA windfall of €8,000 and are
able to donate just 1% of this, or €80, we
will be able to buy dvds for our outpatients
department which would be used to distract a
child who is having bloods taken.
